Hi, Guys,
I am using Proscar 5 mg from August 2004 til today. I always take a quarter, using my pill splitter.
I think, it was the intention of the pill producer to give the tablet such an awful shape, to make it difficult to split into 4 equal pieces. So the splitting causes pieces of 0,9 mg to 1,5 mg per quarter. So I get no continous equal supply of Finasterid. Does anybody knows, that this will have an influence or not?

| I have heard different answers even from doctors on this. Some say it matters; some say it doesn't.

When you're cutting the pill, it's best to cut it into 4 equal parts using your common sense. You will be left with ROUGHLY 1.25 mg per dosage/pill. You're almost guaranteed that the pill will crumb and/or chip off here and there so there's room for play and imperfection. That's why it's best to cut it into 4 parts rather than 5. 5 will usually leave you with less than 1mg per dosae/pill.
