I have been on Propecia(FIN) now for about 3 or 4 years. My doc gave me a script for 0.5mg Advodart(DUT). What do you guys recommend if I take both? Propecia once daily like I have been doing and maybe the Advodart Twice weekly in addition if I can handle the sides. I have had no sides what so ever on Propecia and really do not know if it has worked but to scared to stop just in case it has stablized me. I have had 2 HTs.... last month being my most recent and I really want to make sure I keep the exising hair at bay. Will Advodart make me lose any. I am sure it would casue a shed which is to be expected but I wonder if it will do more stablization or is there a chance for regrowth in the crown and vertex at this point since I am 4 years into Propecia. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best!!

I would seriously check with your doctor about this. These are pretty powerful drugs. To double up is alot of DHT to be blocked. How has your hair responded?

If you are experiencing hair loss on propecia then you should stop it and take 1 avodart a day. I've been taking avodart for 6 years with no sides.

I know lots of guys will disagree, but I don't believe Propecia or Avodart cause you to shed. It is common for us to force ourselves to believe that a recent surge of hairloss is a shed because it is easier to deal with mentally. In fact and unfortunately it is just hair loss.

I never 'shed' on avodart. I did continue to lose some hair over the past 6 years but I would be completely bald today if it weren't for it (and of course my HT's).

Everyone is different.  For example when I was young and stupid and just wanted to be huge, I dabbled in a bit of juice(steroids).  One vial of stanazol over a 8 week period was enough for me to see a noticeable increase in the size of my left nipple.  Still 20 years later its larger than my right.  My friend I trained with used a vial a week, still uses steroids now and never had any noticable side effects.

Personally Ive read that the second drug you mention is quite potent, so would take one or the other, but not both together.  You dont want to get sick for the sake of vanity.  Or atleast maybe start with say half a dosage of each for example and build up the dosage.  Best to ask your Dr for advice.
