Hi,

was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with receiving body hair transplants to the crown or frontal areas using FUE? Would like to hear stories and/or see pics!

They can take hair from your body and use it for your head? Like from your legs? I can't imagine that would look too good.

Usually the body hair will grow longer once transplanted. Body hair is ideally best to use as a filler to add density among the scalp hairs that have been transplanted. However, body hair transplants are not consistent; the yield varies from patient to patient.

It would be best to do a small test transplant to see if you get good growth. If you have plenty of donor hair on your head then you should not consider body hair until that supply is used up.

Hey guys,

thanks for the comments. Yes I heard that body hair is usually better to thicken areas. All good comments! Would still like to see pics if anyone has any!

Body FUE to me is still a big gamble. It should be only considered when all other options are dead. I think less than 10 out of every 100 patients see "OKAY" results.  Their transformations are good and people like my self and others compliment the transformations but keep in mind we're only comparing the after pics of the post-op with the before pics when the man's head was usually butchered and vastly scarred.

If you're looking to get more density and just don't have donor hair, then I think body hair might make a difference. Then again if you're not hairy then that usually means you don't have good donor, but I could be wrong, I'm not a doc.lol

I think body hair transplants have their place. If you minimally use body hair with mostly scalp hair to fill in gaps, you may get a great result. If you're hybrid transplant consists of mostly body har or an equal amount of body and scalp hair, however, then I don't know if the outcome would be as great (based on pictures I've seen). There a couple of doctors who perform it so you should contact them. I've heard of Dr. Umar, Dr. Cole, and Dr. Woods as performing BHT's.

Hey,

I haven't done any research on body hair transplant but it doesn't seem like it would produce the same results since it is not as dense as the hair on your head.  Personally it would be a little disgusting to have body hair on my head....lol....that's just my opinion.
