Hey everyone,
Its vital that guys considering a HT understand that you are not going to get the full result until 16-18 months at least...
I think everyone needs to be made aware that even after a whole year there is still a great deal more in store - more growth, thickening and maturing.
Trust me, I truly know how tough the waiting game is having had 2 procedures myself. Looking constantly in the mirror, inspecting it every opportunity. Comparing your results to others you see online.
The important thing to remember is everyone grows at different rates. If you have chosen a top doctor and followed the post op instructions to the best of your ability, then the growth will come.
I see lots of patients who panic on these forums just a few months out from their procedure. Never mind 3 and 4 months..... which for some reason seems to be the bench mark for the day you wake up and the final result is in.
At months 3, 4 and 5 you have just begun growing!
Months 8-16 are just as important in terms of growth, maturing, thickening as the first 8 months. The success of your HT can only be determined after 18 months especially if you are a slow grower.
Patience is the toughest part of the HT procedure but one of the most important ones. If you are not ready to wait a full year for your result, then you are not ready for a procedure.

| Pat I believe you are right. More to that I would suggest that after having a ht we should not count the days and the months coz this might be annoying. Just do it and get on with your life. Just think that next year you are going to look much better

| Hey Pats, I have to agree that patience is very important when dealing with HT's. I think a lot of people have unrealistic expectations and then jump to conclusions when they don't have a full head of hair at 2 months. I think every good doctor should make his patients aware of these facts, Armani let me know that I would not get instant results but that it would take time. Going in knowing the facts makes all the difference. Gabriel

| Wise words Pats. I think nearly everyone in the beginning goes through the running to the mirror every 5 minutes stage, but after a while you work out that all the looking in the world isnt going to make a new hair sprout out until it is good and ready. I think forums such as this one are great places to come and do our research, meet others with similar situations etc, but they can also sometimes lead us into thinking just because joe got x number of hairs in 3 months growing that we should have the same results at the same stage. It would be nice if this was always the case, but as Pat says we all grow at different rates and we need to just be patient and let our bodies do their thing at there own pace.

| That was a great post pat. I agree with all the additional comments as well. It is important that the clinic gives each and every patient this information. Dr. Armani said I should have a nice result, but I had to be patient.

| Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had encountered a doctor that gave them unrealistic expectations and timelines. If so, did it make your results seem less than satisfacory? I think that when you know what to expect that you are generally happier with the results. Any stories? Gabriel

| Most doctors that I talk with seem to go along with what Pats said in his post. I think the doctor that finds a way to have the transplanted follicals start growing right away instead of going into the resting phase will be a millionaire!!

| Well said Pats. It's so important that patients are made aware of this. I did not really have this explained to me at the first clinic I went to. When I finally went to the Armani clinic, I was explained all this in detail and it really did set my mind at ease. It's exciting to be seeing growth a few months post op and then continuing after more than a year!
