| Do all grafts that shed post op have the little fish hook type look at the base of the shaft or do some shed with a straight end at the base of the shaft. The reason I am asking is I am 13 to 14 days post op and have shed very little of course but have seen both thus far. Does anyone know the differences between these two looks of the shed or if there is a reason some shed hooked and some shed straight? Thanks

| My grafts that shed seemed to have the little fish hook tail too on some of them, perfectly normal. I posted some photos below of what grafts look like after shedding.

I've seen grafts/hairs shed, but never in groups like that.

| Well, those aren't really grafts, but the hairs that were attached to the grafts, now attached to dead dry blood & skin (scabs). The grafts are safe in your scalp, working on growing new hair for you at this point.

| I never really noticed such intricacies after my procedure, but I guess like poking a blade of grass into soil, some would curl up like a fish hook as you describe when trying to fit them in the tiny slits. Just a logical guess.

| Is early shedding good or bad? Shall we do our best to delay the shedding?

I wouldnt 100% be sure that the grafts were secure after 1 week - I would say they were on thier way to being pretty much secure but if you seriously banged your head or itched a graft heavily it could certainly do damage to the graft.
