You need to target hairloss at all angles. Minox and proscar is an excellent combo, but to make it a powerful threesome add nizoral 2% - it also works synergetically with minox and fin. I'd add saw palmetto and biotin too.[/quote]

I tried Nizoral for a few weeks and it made my hair feel soooo thin. Completly changed the texture of my hair, so I jumped off of it. I just read about Biotin in another thread, is that any good? I am taking a hair vitamin right now, it has 30mg of Biotin in it. Should I be taking more? Is it even worth it?

No don't drop saw palmetto for biotin. Just add biotin to your regime. How often were you using nizoral and for how long were you leaving it in your hair?

So far I am sticking with the proscar, the Saw Palmetto and a hair vitamin. I am wondering if I should drop the saw palmetto for Biotin??

I am taking 1/5 proscar plus Saw Palmetto. Should I drop the Palmetto for Biotin?

I would take it. Yes, 540mg sounds right. It's an all natural herbal product. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Dr Armani always recommends it in conjuction with fin and minox. It's like taking more of finasteride without the sides!

I use Proscar, Saw Palmetto & Rogaine as a combination - unfortunately its difficult to say what works the best etc because I dont stop using one or 2 for periods.

I know a fellow patient of Dr Armani's who swears by Saw Palmetto tho & he takes it just on its own without rogaine or proscar.

It may, but it's highly unlikely it can block DHT as well as proscar. I think you're adding an unnecessary extra expense and form of treatment. I don't know what your situation is, but if you feel you need a stronger anti-androgen you may want to consider Dutasteride.

So there is know benefit of taking Saw Palmetto pills if I am taking 1/5 pill of Proscar? Won;t it help to block the DHT and mabye help my hair quality??

Saw Palmetto is available in many topical solutions for hair loss treatment, but since you are taking Proscar there is no point in taking the saw palmetto which is less effective and works in the same manner.

If you're looking to upgrade your treatment you may want to consider a high dose minoxidil instead of the Rogaine. They come up to 15% which is what I use. Also a topical corticosteroid can be effective, from my own personal experience, but a prescription is required and you should be aware of all the pros and cons of long term use of these drugs.

If you like taking vitamins, a B-Complex is the best for your hair.

Saw Palmetto

I am a bit of a vitamin freak. I was buying my supplements for the month and I saw some Saw Palmetto. I figured since its good fore the prostate and might be good for my hair I will pick some up. It is not a topical, they are in pill form. Will any of this help with my hair? I am alreayd taking Proscar and Rogaine.

If so how much should I take? Each pill is 540 mg

Will it help with regrowth or just the quality of my existing hair??
