I don' t think that there was a great amount of regrowing hair, but I saw a great decrease regarding the hair, fell out daily or during washing procedure. There I saw the influence of Finasterid very quick, after a few weeks. I take minoxidil, because I have the feeling that it reduce the speed of hair growth and on the other side lengthen the cyclus time of a hair life. Therefor you have more hair growing to the same time.
So it makes sense to take both to reduce hairloss.
But if you already have sheddered hair, the only way to get back your youthful hairline, is to do a HT.
I took this way and I am glad that I did it.
Nethertheless I continue to take Proscar and Rogaine to protect the existing hair.
RE: Regrowth from propecia?

Well, I think the Dut & Fin side effects are exaggerated, and have been on Dut since 2003 with no sides. But I certainly understand your reluctance. I hope some day not to take any of these meds.

RE: Regrowth from propecia?

Not me either. I am on proscar 1/5th tablet per day. I feel it halted my hairloss but it did not regrow anything :( I wonder sometimes if I should switch to Dut, but I am afraid to.

RE: Regrowth from propecia?

Not me. I continued to lose hair on Propecia, although I imagine it would have fallen out much quicker if I weren't on it. I therefore switched to Avodart (Dutasteride) years ago which I found to be much more effective.

But it is certainly possible to regrow some hair on Propecia. Don't expect a substantial amount of regrowth though. You will have a greater chance of success if you at least take minoxidil in conjunction with the Propecia.

Although one usually doesn't grow back much or any hair on these treatments, they are very good at maintaining whatever hair you already have.

Regrowth from propecia?

Has anyone here had big regrowth from propecia?
